Game Jam Blog #2

Fantastic news! The game is coming along well, we've completed the menu system Rhi's art work has been implemented, my blueprinting has worked without issue so far (Hopefully that can continue) I've created all the essentials this includes Main menu, options, credits and the ability to navigate through the sections easily due to it's simple layout.

I added a new font type to the project, I aimed to implement a user friendly font for those who are hard of reading but at the moment I'm struggling to get a drop down system to work with fonts in unreal engine 4 so for now I've put it as a stretch task, the game's main font "HoneyBee" was found on Dafont and looks perfect for the type of game we're making.

Rhi has been slapping artwork out for our game and it all looks as great as ever, we even manged to hide a character from a previous game idea in the backgrounds!

The level selection from play button is also set up without issue, this means we're ready to start making the mini games which I will be starting in the morning! Hopefully we can achieve all five mini games in time.

On a personal note, I'm really excited to see how this game ends up, we already feel inspired by what we can see on the screen at current which is just what we need!

The options background isn't the final one so all settings will be tweaked to line up correctly with the new background. Look at how cute our credits icon is!

This is also not the final version of the background image but I can't wait to see the finished one it's adorable, chibi me and chibi Rhi look rad! The text will also be easier to read that's on the pumpkin once it's finished.

Level selection:

Here you can see the main level section, hovering over different rooms will give the prompt to start a mini game specific to that area of the house. We gave some thought to how the game ends and decided that once all five mini games are completed it will congratulate the player and give a seasonal thank you to them.
